This beautiful Yellowtail Snapper was sustainably harvested by my wife, Ray, in the Abacos, Bahamas while free-diving using a pole spear. The fish is painted with acrylic paint and then a canvas is pressed onto the fish leaving a fish print. The paint is then washed off and we enjoy a delicious meal! It makes a great piece of art for a small space like a kitchen or bathroom.
Thanks so much for your interest in our art. My wife and I have traveled (some of) the world on our sailboat SV SwellSeeker and our mission is to bring the beauty of the ocean and the memories we make there to your home.
We use the ancient method of free-diving and hunting with a pole spear for our food and our art. This fish was speared, printed with nontoxic ink, filet and then eaten for a delicious meal. The entire production happens on our 41 foot sailboat named, Swell Seeker at anchor in the Bahamas.
This ancient method of art is called Gyotaku. It is the traditional Japanese alternative to Taxidermy that uses ink or paint record a proud catch for Japanese fishermen, it is also a unique art form of nature printing.
We hope you enjoy this beautiful print in your home! Reproduction prints that I offer are museum grade Giclee prints. We offer these prints in 4 options. Fine art Matte Paper, Stretched Canvas, and Paper Framed, and Stretched Canvas Framed.

Choose the fine art matte paper if you'd like the freedom to select your own perfect frame. NOTE:The paper will be carefully rolled in a shipping tube, for this option framing is not included
